ABOUT EGTA

EGTA was formed to provide expertise and assistance to buyers in both Retail and Food Service Companies. These companies wished to purchase food products from overseas and to be able to have the confidence necessary to sell products of the best possible quality from reliable and trustworthy suppliers. With EGTA's years of hands on experiece in many countries and an intimate knowledge of Government regulatory requirements provides a professional arm to their own needs.

EGTA (formerly known as Ed Garing Trading & Agencies Pty Ltd) was established in 1985 by Ed Garing who had been involved in International trading for 15 years. He was also the Founder and President of the Food & Beverage Importers Association. Ed was also a food industry representative on the Australian Government Food Standard Committee (FSANZ).

The Woolworths Select brand Tuna, Salmon & Catfood brands started in 2007. Since then Australians have been able to purchase quality style products at a more economical price and it is now a dominant market player and available nationally in supermarkets.

Whilst Ed Garing has since retired, Bruce Viney who joined EGTA in January 2007, has brought his knowledge of retail buying in food, hardware and associated products from his experience with Coles Myer. Since then with Bruce at the helm, EGTA has gone from strength to strength, with introducing the lastest Select Brand of the Chicken varieties.
